Keep your hair extensions looking gorgeous and lasting longer with these simple care tips. With just a bit of attention, your extensions will stay soft, smooth, and beautiful.

1. Be Extremely Gentle

Handle your extensions with extra care. Brush or style them gently to prevent shedding. Use a soft-bristle brush, start at the ends, and work your way up. Treat them even more delicately than your natural hair.

2. Wash With Moisturising Products

Cleanse your extensions no more than 3 times per week using hydrating, sulfate-free hair care products. Since extensions don’t receive natural oils from the scalp, moisturising shampoos and conditioners help maintain softness without drying them out.

3. Always Use a Heat Protectant

Before using any heated styling tools, apply a quality heat protectant. This reduces the risk of damage and keeps your extensions smoother for longer.

4. Deep Condition Weekly

Once a week, place your extensions in lukewarm water and apply a generous amount of conditioner. Let them soak for about 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and allow them to air-dry. Avoid excessive blow-drying; if needed, use the cool setting only.

5. Keep the Ends Trimmed

Even with careful maintenance, split ends can occur. Trim the ends of your extensions every 6–10 weeks to prevent damage from travelling up the hair shaft. You can trim them yourself with salon scissors or visit a professional stylist.
